Oh my GOD!
Oh my God what a crap day! Well actually it was more stressful than crappy. Our dog has a parasite and is shitting blood! Absolutely disgusting. We thought she might have swallowed something that was scraping her intestines and causing the bleeding so we took her to the vet. The good new is that an xray revealed only tons of gas (ewww!) but thankfully no foreign objects. She is on antibiotics and a special diet for the time being. So I was late for work but the morning and early afternoon went smoothly. I worried about our dog and called for an update but so far so good. My stress increased 10-fold when I went to doctor appt to discuss starting an antidepressant. It took 2 hours instead of the normal 45 minutes. Most of the time was spent waiting to be registered and then waiting to see the doctor. Arggh. By the time I got back to my office it was just after 5pm and I had to rush to the vets, which closed at 6pm, to pick up our dog. So, now I'm rushing to the vets office in rush hour traffic. I got there and proceeded to wait a good 30 minutes before she was brought out from the "kennel". While I was paying the bill, our dog, who was more than ready to go home, was barking incessantly. I was also instructed to keep her away from other dogs to prevent the transmission of the parasite. Wouldn't you know it? Every dog there seemed to be attracted to her like a frigin' magnet. So I'm trying to listen to the vet's instruction, pay my bill, calm my dog, and keep other pets away from her. What a fiasco. At the same time, I was worried that she was going to have a loose, bloody bowel movement right there and was itching to get out of the office so she could do her business outside. I also wanted to get her home because she was not well. I still had to buy the special dog food so I put her in the car thinking it would only take me a few minutes and away we'd go. No, of course not. I realized I needed my husband to transfer more money to my account to pay for the food. I'm standing at the register talking to my husband on my cell phone asking him what my balance is hoping he'll get the very subtle hint to transfer money. He tells me I should just say what I need him to do (I agree and looking back now I should have called him while I was in the car or in an aisle). So there I'm standing and he tells me the bank website gets hung up. After another 15 minutes of waiting I tell him I'm going to just head home and requested he go out and get the dog food. Thankfully he agreed. I got to the car and the dog had gotten some shit on the car seat. Yuck! Finally I made it home. I'm so ready for a bath, my pj's, and bed.
